At Rejuvenate You Beauty Upwey- our brow tattooist Emma specialises in Combination aka Combo And Ombré Eyebrow tattooing.
What are Combo Brows? Combo brows are a combination of two forms of semi-permanent makeup techniques: microblading and powder brows (shading). Microblading hair-strokes are placed with a manual tool within the inner corners of the brow to give the brow a natural hair stroke effect. The powder effect is applied to the body of the brow using a cosmetic tattoo machine to give the brow its fullness.
Combo Brows are suitable for a dry-normal or combination skin type. This style of brow isn’t suggested for a true oily skin type due to the microbladed hair strokes (the strokes don’t retain well in an oily skin).
Combo brows are suited to those wanting to give their brows more body and definition, whilst keeping their brows still looking natural.
Oily skin with larger pores unfortunately isn’t suitable for combo brows with the microbladed hair strokes, therefore we then recommend Ombré Brows- also known as Powder Brows. Ombré brow tattooing is by no means blocky, but a soft powdery finish that looks like you've just powdered your brows in, that tapers off as you come to the inner part of the eyebrow (hence the name Ombre Brows). Using a cosmetic tattoo machine, hundreds of tiny dots of pigment are implanted into the skin which resembles a soft powder finish. Ombré brows are suitable for any skin type including oily and are suitable for those seeking a more natural/softer finished brow.
A new set of Combo or Ombré brows takes two appointments to complete. Two visits are required to ensure that all areas of the brows have picked up the hair strokes and are evenly saturated with pigment. The second appointment is called the “touchup”appointment and takes place 5-6 weeks after the initial appointment after the pigment has settled into the skin. In this touchup, Emma will make any needed adjustments, ensuring the brows have even coverage etc
